Biografia
Danny McPherson é Diretor de Segurança da Verisign, onde é responsável por direção estratégica, pesquisa e inovação em infraestrutura, e segurança da informação. Presta assessoria sobre estratégia corporativa, evolução da infraestrutura e direção de produtos, e representa a Verisign nos principais fóruns relacionados à infraestrutura crítica, evolução de redes, inteligência e disponibilidade. Com quase 20 anos de experiência nos setores de operações, segurança e telecomunicações de rede da Internet, oferece à empresa uma enorme liderança técnica.
Antes de ingressar na Verisign, Danny foi Vice-Presidente e Diretor de Segurança da Arbor Networks, onde ajudou a liderar a estratégia global e a arquitetura de produtos da empresa. Já ocupou posições de liderança em arquitetura, engenharia e operações de redes na Amber Networks, Qwest Communications, Genuity, MCI Communications e na U.S. Army Signal Corp.
Danny tem sido um participante ativo na padronização da Internet desde 1996 e é considerado um dos melhores especialistas do setor de infraestrutura e segurança da internet. Atualmente, é membro do Internet Architecture Board (IAB), Internet Research Steering Group (IRSG) e co-preside o L3VPN WG da IETF. Também atua no Security and Stability Advisory Council (SSAC) da ICANN no Network Reliability and Interoperability Council (NRIC) da FCC.
Danny é bastante atuante nas comunidades de operações e pesquisa de rede e segurança, e escreveu diversos livros, padrões de protocolo da Internet, publicações sobre pesquisas em rede e segurança, e outras publicações relacionadas a infraestrutura crítica, protocolos de roteamento, segurança de rede, endereçamento da internet e operações de rede.
