Biografie
Danny McPherson is de Chief Security Officer (hoofd van de veiligheidsdienst) van Verisign, waar hij verantwoordelijk is voor de strategische leiding, onderzoek en innovatie op het vlak van infrastructuur en informatiebeveiliging. Hij geeft advies over de bedrijfsstrategie, evolutie van de infrastructuur en productstrategie en vertegenwoordigt Verisign op belangrijke forums rond essentiële infrastructuur, netwerkevolutie, kennis en beschikbaarheid. Met bijna 20 jaar ervaring in de internet sectoren netwerkoperaties, beveiliging en telecommunicatie, is hij met zijn technisch leiderschap enorm belangrijk voor onze onderneming .
Voor zijn loopbaan bij Verisign was Danny Vice President en Chief Security Officer bij Arbor Networks, waar hij de algemene strategie en productarchitectuur hielp leiden. Eerder bekleedde hij technisch leidinggevende functies op het vlak van netwerkarchitectuur, techniek en werking bij Amber Networks, Qwest Communications, Genuity, MCI Communications en de U.S. Army Signal Corp.
Danny draagt al sinds 1996 actief bij aan het standaardiseren van het internet en wordt beschouwd als een van de topdeskundigen op het vlak van internetinfrastructuur en beveiliging. Tegenwoordig is hij lid van de Internet Architecture Board (IAB), Internet Research Steering Group (IRSG) en medevoorzitter van de L3VPN WG van de IETF. Eveneens zit hij in de Security and Stability Advisory Council (SSAC) van de ICANN en de Network Reliability and Interoperability Council (NRIC) van de FCC.
Danny is uiterst actief op het gebied van netwerk- en beveiligingsoperaties en onderzoeksgemeenschappen en schreef verschillende boeken, internetprotocolstandaarden, onderzoeksdocumenten rond netwerken en beveiliging en andere publicaties met betrekking tot essentiële infrastructuur, routeringsprotocols, netwerkbeveiliging, internetadressering en netwerkoperaties.
