HIRING PROGRAMS

At Verisign we make corporate responsibility a fundamental part of who we are and how we operate. We believe that being a good corporate citizen starts at home with our employees by creating a great place for them to work and extends to how we do business through our corporate governance and ethics.

Verisign will not tolerate any unlawful discrimination, and any such conduct is expressly prohibited. Verisign will not condone or tolerate the discrimination of its employees by coworkers, managers, customers, vendors, suppliers, third parties or any individual under Verisign’s control.

We strive to hire a strong, diverse workforce. By attracting and maintaining a diverse workforce, we foster an environment where differences in experience, background and opinion are valued and respected.

We simply cannot afford to deprive ourselves of capable people for reasons based on unjust or unlawful discrimination. This means that we make all employment decisions based on merit and without regard for race, color, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local law.

Verisign is committed to complying with all applicable provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other similar state or local laws. It is our policy not to discriminate against any qualified employee or applicant with regard to any terms or conditions of employment because that person is a qualified individual with a disability. Consistent with this policy of nondiscrimination, Verisign will provide a reasonable accommodation to a qualified individual with a disability, as defined by the ADA, who has made us aware of his or her disability, provided that such accommodation does not constitute an undue hardship on the company.

SAFETY

A top priority for Verisign is maintaining a safe, healthy environment for all employees. Therefore, we strive to follow safe working procedures at all times and actively work to prevent accidents. We have established emergency planning and response programs as well as ergonomics guidelines to help employees prevent injury and minimize property damage.

HARASSMENT

We also demand a work environment free from harassment, which is defined as any form of inappropriate conduct toward another person that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment. Harassing conduct includes both physical actions and verbal remarks or messages, whether done by an employee or a non-employee. This includes harassment based on race, color, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Sexual harassment involves unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors or other physical or verbal conduct of a sexual nature.
