Russ White is a 20 year veteran of the networking industry with a broad background and record of innovation. He has co-authored 8 technical books in network protocols, network design, and router architecture. He has also published articles and white papers, co-authored IETF standards, spoken globally at network industry events, developed and taught Master's level classes, and is an inventor of over 30 software and algorithm patents. Russ is also on the team that developed and maintains the CCDE and CCAr certifications, and is on the IT Advisory Council at Capella University. His background includes electronic engineering, coding, and graphic design. Russ previously worked at Cisco Systems (15 years), moving from the Technical Assistance Center through Global Escalation, into Engineering, and finally as a Distinguished Architect on the Borderless Networks Architecture Team.
Russ is working within the Office of the CTO on routing security, network complexity, energy aware control plane, SDNs, CDNs, and other places where the control plane touches the routing system.
